The Economy of Startups
A buddy of mine with quite a lot of start up experience recently answered a question I sent him in an email.
What's the startup environment like there? Do you notice people getting nervous about the economy?
From where I sit it looks like it's the start of a recession - not the best time for internet startups.

NewsCup is releasing to the public it's software for scalability - NYMRL, which allows the building of scalable RPC over HTTP.
The C based library is simple and primitive, but provides significant performance improvements over using higher level languages for the same task, like Java, PHP, Perl, Python and Ruby.
Private Beta set to begin in Just 4 short weeks.
Stealth mode is a popular term for startups. This period of relative anonymity is like finding safe cave from the wild west of the internet and the business world. We're just a little baby.
The private beta will be open to potential investors and friends alike.
We know that once the cat is out of the bag, there's no turning back. And in this case, it can only mean exciting things. We can't wait for real world testing, and the feedback of the everyday user for whom this service is designed.

NewsCup, Inc. - Cooperative Search Technologies
NewsCup is a collection of search technologies integrated into several platforms for cooperative search.
We are currently seeking funding for the launch of our brand, services, and products.
So what is the story?
NewsCup has been in development for two years. In February 2007 a demo was finished and presented to a small group in New Orleans. The software worked then, and worked well. But, was it ready for launch, for prime time?
RDF might be coming to Drupal sooner than you think
Boris Mann is an important and helpful dude for the Drupal Foundation. He's one of the ringmasters at the conferences I've been to.
He's just written a pleasant article looking at RDF in a positive light.
Machine Tags - Rapid and Complex Taxonomy Development for Drupal
